We welcome Lakshya Sharma as a PhD student in our group. Lakshya is affiliated to RPTU Kaiserslautern and is currently working at IPHT jena.
Before joining the Laboratory for Lightwave Metrology as a PhD, Lakshya has completed his Bachelor’s studies at Central university of Rajasthan, India and Master’s in Physics at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, India. In his Master’s thesis, Lakshya has worked on the characterisation of the duration of ultrashort laser pulses using an in-house built autocorrelation setup, and on chirp compensation of femtosecond pulses using a spatial light modulator. In the past, Lakshya has also worked on synthesis of thin-film samples using pulsed laser deposition and reflection high energy electron diffraction, as well as their characterization in the terahertz domain.
Lakshya’s PhD project will aim at the development of broadband, rapid and high-dynamic-range monitoring of biological gas samples using field-resolved infrared spectroscopy and frequency-comb techniques.
