Welcome Felix !

We are excited to welcome Dr. Felix Paries to the Laboratory of Lightwave Metrology! Felix will be primarily associated with the Optical Quantum Metrology group at Fraunhofer ITWM in Kaiserslautern and will help shape the development of the new group.

Felix brings a strong background in photonics and spintronics, with a focus on field-resolved spectroscopy (FRS). He recently completed his PhD at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern, where his dissertation, “Novel approaches in terahertz spintronics and field-resolved spectroscopy,” introduced innovative concepts such as fiber-tip spintronic terahertz emitters and interferometric delay tracking for fast-scan spectroscopy.

At the Laboratory for Lightwave Metrology, Felix supports our mission to deepen the understanding of light–matter interactions and to develop cutting-edge photonic technologies for applications in material characterization, biology, and medicine. While he will coordinate inter-institutional and inter-disciplinary projects, he is also going to conducting hands-on experimental research in terahertz and infrared FRS.

When he’s not occupied with research, Felix is a passionate run-and-play athlete with an evening habit of watching pro-cycling highlights and interviews. His holidays are part training camp, part exploration of contemporary art and architecture.

Welcome on board, Felix!
