Our PhD student, Aarya, participated in a conference for doctoral and master’s students hosted by the Abbe Center of Photonics in Jena. The conference was held in Suhl, Thuringia, from August 26th to 30th, 2024.

It was a good opportunity to present the group’s progress on the imaging and microfluidics setup for field-resolved-spectroscopy flow cytometry and exchange research ideas with peers working in related fields.

In addition, the conference offered fascinating talks from experts on ultrafast optics, non-linear and quantum optics, nanooptics, spectroscopy and imaging.  Representatives from the industry also delivered talks that gave useful career insights.

Besides all the science, there were many social activities, such as archery, hiking, karaoke, and a conference dinner.
