In the beginning of November, the group met in the charming town of Bacharach at the river Rhine for an autumn retreat. The meeting took place in the historic Stahleck Castle (German: Burg Stahleck) from the 12th century, nowadays repurposed as a hostel. The four-day workshop included scientific sessions, thesis progress and project meetings. The evenings were reserved for social activities such as presentation roulette, pantomime, werewolf, and a hike through the old town and surrounding hills with vineyards.
