Our research group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM has been awarded a
new 600,000.00 € research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology
and Space (BMFTR).
The project focuses on developing innovative key concepts in infrared field-resolved spectroscopy
(FRS). Its goal is to enable the detection of minute, relevant concentrations of trace constituents in
complex molecular samples by advancing fiber-amplifier-based FRS technology toward compactness
and robustness. A central aspect is the development and implementation of an interferometrically
monitored “optical zipper”. This novel concept aims to enable cost-effective and ultrafast acquisition
of infrared fingerprints with highest precision.
