We are delighted to welcome Bhaswar to the Laboratory of Lightwave Metrology as a postdoctoral researcher, joining us through RPTU and Fraunhofer ITWM. His work will focus on advancing field-resolved infrared spectroscopy technology, with the goal of developing compact systems suitable for use in real clinical settings.

Bhaswar recently earned his PhD from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where his research focused on the design and development of high average power, broadband mid-infrared lasers using soft glass fibers as the gain medium. He also brings experience in near-infrared fiber lasers and chirped pulse amplification (CPA) systems, which formed the core of his Master’s thesis.
Outside of his academic work, Bhaswar is an avid reader, photographer and gamer. He spends most of his free time pursuing these interests, along with a side hobby in cooking.
